    David Chartier:

I finally figured out what bugs me so much about Microsoft’s Songsmith, a new “Microsoft Research” project that turned into a joke the moment its ridiculous video marketing pitch hit the web.

Songsmith is the epitome of one of Microsoft’s worst problems that goes straight to its core: the software fails to solve a problem that anyone actually has in the real world.

I couldn’t stand the Songsmith ad. If its aim was to incite me to write words of hate, it certainly succeeded. But who - for the love of God - was the wise-ass to actually say “I think that’s good enough” and place in front of real people, never mind blood-thirsty, Microsoft bashing bloggers?
