1. No wonder Sony reported a $2.9 billion loss last year

    chartier:

Sony Ericsson’s new “Premier 3 Walkman” phone can copy music played into it from a CD player. Setting aside the debate of how useful this actually is from either a cultural standpoint (more people buy their music in digital form than optical media now) or functional one (who wants to copy music to a device in real time?), the phone is practically worthless for fulfilling its purpose:

The phone has a 3” 480×854 pixel display, 3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, GPS, Infrared, but questionably, Sony chose to include a mere 50mb memory. The phone does have a Micro SD card slot, but this can only support up to 2gb cards.

All this stupid can be had for the low, low price of $450. No, that isn’t a typo.

Please excuse the expletives, but who the fuck dreamt this up, built it, signed it off, and thought it a good idea?
