In most people’s vocabularies, design means veneer. It’s interior decorating. It’s the fabric of the curtains and the sofa. But to me, nothing could be further from the meaning of design. Design is the fundamental soul of a man-made creation that ends up expressing itself in successive outer layers of the product or service.

Powerful and poignant.
Thank you, Steve.
It’s all a great demo, now, but when Siri tells your wife you’re working Kate tonight, there will be hell to pay.

As anyone who watches Apple closely knows, analysts are absolutely fucktarded when it comes to Apple. If you bet directly against what they’ve said about the company over the years, you’d be a very rich person. They’re always wrong. And it’s clear that the vast majority of them do not understand the company.
You’re going to see a lot of press and blogs about how Apple has lost its way, how they have squandered the last 18 months with a “minor” refresh. But I’m pretty sure Apple could [not] care less. They made the phone that they think people will love, and stuck with an industrial design that is destined to become iconic, if it hasn’t already. Apple made the phone that people want, not the phone that the pundits want.
That was bloody quick.
