Writing good software basically comes down to having a worse case of OCD than your customers.
There’s been tonnes of new iPhone apps this year, but these are the new ones that have stayed on my phone since their launch in the year.
This is music to my ears - a great piece.
To summarise, he’s hard at work on NNW 3.2 / 4.0 for the Mac, and NNW 2.0 for the iPhone, the next big feature that’s coming to my favourite RSS reader is Google Reader syncing. Maybe this will finally convince me to switch to Reader.
Fraser Speirs talks about his recent acquisition of Changes.app (an OS X File Comparison and Diff-ing application).
Unlike software on the Desktop, mobile software will have a finite development life. The 1.0’s and 2.0’s you currently use and enjoy most likely won’t make it to 3.0 or even 9.0 because there’s not enough money coming in to support the development. If there is not much financial incentive to continue developing and improving a quality application, why bother?
I don’t know how well the developers are doing in the MacHeist equation, but whatever they’re losing, they’re buying the services of a master marketer.
Alternate side of the story from TUAW’s Christina Warren (a.k.a. my sister).
An update from Marco Arment who’s heard from MacHeist’s Phil Ryu.
Marco Arment on MacHeist, which is running again. I’m posting the link purely for reading: Realmac are taking part this year, so I’m not going to comment further.
